Job description

Our client is a well established stainless steel fabrication company based in Blackburn. Due to an increase in workload they are looking to take on a second SolidWorks Designer. Our client has developed a reputation for investing in staff through training and investment. Previous SolidWorks Design staff have started with little experience in stainless steel fabrication and have been sent on training courses to develop the specific skills required.

For this role you will ideally come from a Commercial Kitchen design background although other experience with Sheet Metal is equally valuable. The daily activities for this role will include designing bespoke stainless steel products and manipulating existing products from the catalogue of parts.

You will mainly be working with SolidWorks for manufacturing drawings and Revit for design work. The company is currently phasing out using AutoCAD 2D but experience using the software is desirable.

As a SolidWorks Designer will then be required to convert the CAD drawings into CAM programs for the CNC Laser machine (on site). You will be required to follow the part through to production and ensure it meets the companies strict quality standards.

Most of your work will be manipulating an existing drawing to fit client specification and following up to ensure sizing and requirements have been met.

You will not need CAM experience as training for this would be provided. A technical mind is required and a background such as Architectural Technology would be well suited. The company has invested in becoming more automated so there is more effort put in at the design stages.

You will be required to live within a 20 mile radius of the business and have your own transport.
