Job Description
CADagency is pleased to be working with a well established master designer, manufacturer and supplier of bespoke personal protective equipment to police, special operations and military forces around the globe.
Due to on-going demand and a new range of products their is a requirement for a CAD-CAM Garment Production Marker Maker. You will be responsible for generating efficient and profitable Production ready markers for a high volume, fast paced material Cutting department, meeting marker efficiency and material consumption targets with accuracy, while maintaining consistent productivity, quality and timeliness.
Skills
- High level of proficiency in CAD/Marker/Nesting in Gerber and/or Optitex CAD software systems preferred (proficiency in alternate systems will also be considered)
- In depth knowledge of Production marker making processes, marker efficiency, material utilization, and waste reduction
- PDS and pattern geometry, and its effect on marker efficiency
- Familiarity with heavy nylon wovens, laminates, knit meshes, spacers, circular knits, Velcro, elastics, polymer-based ballistics, all their basic properties and cutting processes (CnC, Laser)
- Knowledge of garment design and construction methods
- Strong organizational skills, able to effectively manage own workload
- Meticulous and detail oriented
- Excellent math skills
- Strong work ethic
- Microsoft Office (Excel and Power Point)
- Create Production ready markers for both garment and ballistic material layups using both Gerber and Optitex software
- Effectively communicate marker and layplan information to Manufacturing (both internal and external)
- Meet a minimum target marker efficiency of 85%, manipulate as necessary to achieve best results
- Optimise material utilisation, identify cost reduction/ savings opportunities
- Maintain consistent productivity, timeliness, and quality of work
- As a strong team player, collaborate effectively with cross-functional associates
- Continually review and improve the marker making process working closely with Design and Cutting department(s) team members
Education
University degree, and/or Technical college equivalent in Technical Design or similar (Fashion or Industrial)
Working Hours
Monday – Thursday 7am – 4pm / Friday 7am – 1pm
