Job Description
Our client is a market leader in the design, installation and servicing of commercial kitchens. Based in Bradford they are an award winning, entrepreneurial company and are currently looking for a CAD Designer to join our growing design team. Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for BIM Standards development, implementation and enforcement
- Maintain the BIM software Template files to assure Standards
- Assist in developing and enforcing BIM documentation and workflow processes
- Train and support others in BIM software and standards
- Prepare detailed working drawings, as required by the Design Manager
- Attend BIM start up and design meetings
- Take up the role of Task Information Manager on all BIM projects
- Assist with Common Data Environment management
- Deliver technically correct outputs using CAD/BIM
- Have a good understanding of all relevant Industry Standards and Codes of Practices
- Be able to work to specific client drawing standards
- Have a good understanding of Health & Safety requirements
- Report on the company’s current and projected state in regards to BIM implementation
Qualifications
- Formal BIM level 2 qualification
Experience
- 2 years’ experience in design and drafting in Revit
- Knowledge of BIM Level 2 Standards (BS1192, PAS1192 suite, COBie, Uniclass 2015 etc.)
- Competency of BIM software through continued use and training
- Management and use of Common Data Environments (e.g. Viewpoint for projects, Procore, Livelink, Conject, BIM 360 Docs, Asite)
- Day-to-day technical support and trouble shooting
Skills
- Ability to conduct internal training and mentoring of staff
- Ability to quality control and audit others work
- Oversee the day-to day activities of BIM modelling to ensure standards are maintained
- Understanding of existing BIM software formats as well as possibilities and limitations (dwg, rvt, xml, ifc etc.)
- Handling information flows between different software in a project, i.e. communication between software
- The ability to create and manage content libraries, Families etc.
- Willingness to cooperate and share knowledge and experiences
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic and able to take on responsibility
- Good communication skills, written and verbal
- Ability to develop BIM Standards relevant to commercial kitchens
- Good knowledge of the following software tools;
