Our client is a leading global supplier of fall protection solutions, safety railing systems, and safe access equipment for working at height.
They are currently using an obsolete 3D CAD system and require a contractor to convert the old 3D models into SolidWorks drawings. There in no way to transfer any data to SolidWorks format and you will be required to draw each product from scratch. You will be able to see some of the products on the old format and get dimensions this way or use 2D manufacturing drawings that will be more accurate. Failing this you could reverse engineer a product from the shop floor.
There is also an immediate requirements to design 3D models for a brochure they are currently putting together. Finally, an experience with BIM would be advantageous as they are putting together a BIM library and this role could be expanded to include this requirement too.
If you do not have a licence for SolidWorks one could be provided but it would be preferable if you had your own device and software. There is no definite requirement to work from the clients office and you could work partly from home although some information such as dimensions would need to be gathered from their offices.
The rate for this role is £20-£40 dependant on experience, breath of the role and licensing. It will be a 3- 6 month contract.
