CADagency is delighted to be working with a specialist engineering company based in Rugby. They design, manufacture and install bespoke mechanical systems, with a strong focus on turnkey automation and materials handling. As they continue to grow, they’re looking to add a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to their team.
This is a full-time, office-based role for a confident designer who’s comfortable developing mechanical solutions from concept to completion. You’ll be taking the lead on projects, working closely with clients, internal teams and sub-contractors, and supporting junior team members along the way.
- Develop practical, best-value design solutions across mechanical projects
- Create detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings using Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks
- Carry out site surveys and attend design review and progress meetings
- Prepare technical documentation, O&M manuals, and CE certification files
Key Requirements
- Minimum of HNC (with apprenticeship) or HND/Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 3+ years’ experience in mechanical turnkey automation design
- Proficient in Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks
- Understanding of CDM 2015 regs, mechanical calculations, and FEA principles
This role would suit someone with experience in pneumatics, hydraulics, sensing and power transmission systems. If you’ve got a background in the materials handling sector, even better but it’s not essential. A full UK driving licence is required for occasional site visits.
Hours: Monday to Friday, full time
Salary: £40,000 – £55,000 depending on experience
