CADagency is delighted to be working with a leading architectural metalwork design, fabrication, and installation company based in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. Specialising in high-end retail, commercial, residential, infrastructure, and utility projects, our client has been delivering exceptional services to the construction industry for over 25 years. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced CAD Technician to join their team.

As a CAD Technician, you will be responsible for producing accurate fabrication drawings, part drawings, and purchase requisitions to ensure seamless manufacturing and project delivery. You will liaise with the purchasing and workshop teams to resolve any technical issues and work closely with site fitters to ensure the project meets its design specifications. You will also play a key role in preparing project documentation, including specifications and reports, and may need to attend site visits for surveys and material setting out when required.

  • Produce fabrication drawings suitable for workshop manufacture.
  • Create part drawings and purchase requisitions for product procurement.
  • Liaise with purchasing and workshop teams to resolve any technical issues.
  • Collaborate with site fitters to address any design or installation concerns.
  • Assist in preparing project documentation, including specifications and reports.
  • Conduct site visits to perform surveys and assist in material setting out when required.

Key Skills

  • Proficiency in Tekla or Advanced Steel.
  • Strong knowledge of Architectural Steelwork.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar role, with the ability to hit the ground running.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and clients.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • A relevant qualification in drafting/construction design is advantageous but not essential.
  • A valid driving licence due to the office location.
  • Right to work in the UK.
